ANIME REVIEWS!!

Well well....you actually want to know what I think? I wouldn't consider myself an authority on lots of anime (hence the title, "Laudable"), but I've seen quite a bit. If you frequent anime review sites like www.animenfo.com then you have probably read my reviews before. Even so, I decided to include this little section because I like to write reviews on my own terms. Below is a list of all the anime I've seen/own, and if there's a link, then that means there's a review. Gee, that makes sense! :-p  If you can't tell, I have a thing for classical music-themed anime, and if it's *reallly* popular in the US (i.e.: Cartoon Network stuff) , then I probably haven't seen it because I don't have cable or satellite. Poor me.

A NOTE ON THE REVIEWS: When I watch my anime, I usually watch it first in Japanese with the subtitles, if there's an English dub, because I know that I'll see it in English with my friends or my mom, b/c they generally don't like to watch subtitled anime. Then I'll go back and watch it in English with the subtitles, because I'm *that* wierd.  ;-p   No...it's just that I normally like to watch things more than once, and I might as  well get something new out of it each time! So with almost every anime here I've seen each around 3 times.  Exceptions would be the stuff that I don't personally own, like Ninja Scroll or Cowboy Bebop.

Okay...otakus don't kill me, but I often buy HK DVD rips. Why? well, if you want a detailed explanation, go here. Otherwise, content yourself by knowing that I only buy rips if the series isn't released officially here (or I bought it a long time ago before I knew they were illegal copies). That said, I will tell you that the majority of these places sell Hong Kong DVDs. Some, like dadvd.com, sell both licensed and 'import' DVDs. So do what you like.

**   www.atomic-movies.com  : this place has  around 260 different titles, but they don't restock often, and when they're gone, they're gone. But you can't beat the price...most DVDs start at $8.99 , with dual language tracks! YES!

** www.animekrazy.com : super-fast shipping and  a rather large selection of titles. Not quite as cheap as Atomic Movies, but $10.99 is still cheaper than most.

** www.edvdstore.com : another really cheap place, they sometimes go as low as $7.99! Large selection, in english dubs as well. They carry domestics and imports.

** www.discountanimedvd.com : a very organized store that has prices that are slightly higher than  the other stores  listed, but they carry a massive amount of products. They also update their stock frequently, and offer some nice (if a bit pricey) bundles for certain series.

** www.sundevildvd.com : prices comparable to discount anime dvd.  Some things are a little cheaper. Good selection.

** www.nextdayanime.com : prides themselves in their super-fast shipping. Very responsible....some prices are a bit steep. Still cheap, though.

** www.rightstuf.com : if you positively want your anime on VHS, this is the place for you . They have a large selection of both VHS and DVD anime, and some are as low as $6 per tape!  The DVDs aren't quite as cheap, but they frequently offer specials and bundles that are nice.

and of course there's always eBay ::grin:: but try to buy stuff from one seller, to save on shipping costs. That alone can get your "good deal" anime up to regular price. Some anime is just plain expensive (like Cowboy Bebop or Hellsing) so you might want to look for some rock-bottom deals on eBay. that and some anime that hasn't even been bootlegged yet (like Princess Tutu) can be found made into DVD-R's by fans.

Future Purchases: look forward to reviews on these in 2004, God willing my money holds !!!!
